The Clawfoot Tub Loft

If I died and went to heaven, this is what the bathroom would look like. Most bathrooms are too small for film crews or photo lights. In a bathroom like this, not only can you all fit, but you can also get far enough from the subject to allow for a variety of different shots. Stunning bathroom aside, this loft is spacious but comfortable, with rustic furniture, dark-stained floors, refrigerator (complete with refrigerator magnets) and even an upright piano.

Imagine all of the contents of a Maine roadside flea market transplanted into a cozy Brooklyn loft. Every nook and cranny of this loft is filled to the brim with old framed tin-type photographs, retro paintings, dusty books, antlers, old clocks, broken toys, and every kind of tool imaginable – hung on the wall! There’s a tree fort loft made from birch logs, a garden window lounge with a tiny stage, and a rock embedded floor under a clawfoot tub.

The Hansel and Gretel Victorian

Enter this pretty gingerbread cottage-mansion and be drawn deeper inside by its perfumed scent. Once inside, a perfectly frightening bear-skin rug and a variety of taxidermy fauna greet you. Children best stay away from the brick fireplace hearth! Perfectly period-dressed mannequins, musical chairs, antiques, and statuary draw you in deeper. A tiny child’s corset is laid upon a small, pretty bed while music box dolls animate to dance for arriving guests. I half expected to find Miss Havisham pining away in a corner upstairs but instead I found sun poring through gothic-arched windows and shedding light upon dreamy bedrooms and hallways.

The Arabesque Victorian

Geometric patterns mimicking nature appear everywhere in this gorgeous Victorian manse. In the archways, the pediments, tower, woodwork, and especially in the magnificent stained glass. Islamic features are present throughout its design but there is also a Germanic influence in the stained glass. Sitting high upon a hill, the house has splendid water views from many windows. The attic features a creepy, coffin-shaped tunnel to the tower.

Square footage: 4,500 interior, 1/3 acre (24 rooms with 6 bedrooms, 4 1/2 bathrooms, 6 fireplaces, 24 stained glass windows)

Amenities/Details:

  • Furniture, artwork and props as seen in the pictures

The Old San Juan Villa

A stunning fifty-two room mansion. The ancient villa sits high on the Old City’s North Wall with stunning Atlantic Ocean views and breezes. Created by joining six interconnecting townhouses, the villa houses an artist and her life’s work in painting and sculpture. The magnificently decaying stone and plaster walls harken back to a time when pirates looted and pillaged in the Caribbean. The villa features brick patios, antique arches, ausubo beams, private stone nooks, a sunken open-air waterfall pool, and a multitude of sculpted fountains. Nineteen gardens and five active art studios are tucked away between twenty-two beautifully appointed guest rooms. A Venetian-style music room houses a grand piano.

The Lakefront Lodge

This stately lodge, with its steeply pitched wood shingle roof and stone façade, wouldn’t be out of place in the English countryside or Germany’s Black Forest. One reaches the lodge via a private road through woods and wetlands. Knock on the brass lion doorknocker at the front door, but be patient as it takes awhile to unbolt the heavy wooden door. Inside you’ll find a cavernous wood-paneled great room, a huge fireplace with cauldrons, and an enormous wrought iron chandelier. Outside you’ll find a private lake with a floating dock, a grand lion-headed fountain, waterfall, manicured grounds, rolling hills, and huge pines circling the home. This lakefront estate is surrounded by water on four sides, which offers water views from almost every window. Square footage: 5,000 interior, 7.5 acres of land (Main house: Great room, dining room, bird room, sunroom, commercial kitchen, 4 bedrooms, art studio, 5 bathrooms, steam room, laundry room; Outbuildings: Boathouse, large workshop, tower, child’s house) Amenities/Details:

The Yellow Colonial
