Fort Hill Castle

Fort Hill was a British fort during the revolutionary war. While some of the tunnels and munitions are still buried in the hill, the fort no longer stands. In the late twenties, another fort-like structure was built as a home, Fort Hill Castle. This unique urban Mediterranean villa was commissioned by the original owners to resemble a specific castle in Spain. The garden, in full bloom from April through October, features a small pond, 112 varieties of flowering plant and flower, fountains, and statuary. Most of the interior walls in the home are currently painted white.

The Lakefront Lodge

This stately lodge, with its steeply pitched wood shingle roof and stone façade, wouldn’t be out of place in the English countryside or Germany’s Black Forest. One reaches the lodge via a private road through woods and wetlands. Knock on the brass lion doorknocker at the front door, but be patient as it takes awhile to unbolt the heavy wooden door. Inside you’ll find a cavernous wood-paneled great room, a huge fireplace with cauldrons, and an enormous wrought iron chandelier. Outside you’ll find a private lake with a floating dock, a grand lion-headed fountain, waterfall, manicured grounds, rolling hills, and huge pines circling the home. This lakefront estate is surrounded by water on four sides, which offers water views from almost every window. Square footage: 5,000 interior, 7.5 acres of land (Main house: Great room, dining room, bird room, sunroom, commercial kitchen, 4 bedrooms, art studio, 5 bathrooms, steam room, laundry room; Outbuildings: Boathouse, large workshop, tower, child’s house) Amenities/Details:
